Plan Your Visit

We understand going to a new church can sometimes be intimidating. At HCC we want to do our best to help you feel welcome and at home! On this page you will find some FAQ's and a contact form. Feel free to introduce yourself and ask any questions you may have. We look forward to meeting you!

Do you have to dress up to attend a worship service?

Not at all.  You're welcome to dress comfortable, and come as you are.  At Harewood Community Church, you will see jeans, jerseys, and the occasional suit and dress.  We are a diverse, multi-generational church.

Is there something for the kids and youth?

We all come together as a family, children and youth during worship.  Following the worship children ages 4-12 years are dismissed to participate in their own time of singing, prayer and Bible learning.  Every second and fourth Sunday includes a program for youth ages 13 and up. Kids and youth classes are on hold during the summer months of July and August.

What do you offer for babies and toddlers?

There is a quiet space in the lounge should you require for feeding and additional care for your infant and/or toddler.

Why do you meet in a hall?

As we currently do not own a full time building, we are honoured to have use of Royal Canadian Legion Hall on Sunday mornings. This location has ample parking, wheelchair access, and places us in the heart of Nanaimo. We are open to re-location should a more permanent facility become available as our family grows.

What denomination is Harewood Community Church?

We consider ourselves to be non-denominational.  We are partnered with the Apostolic Churches of Pentecost of Canada.  ACOP provides support for our pastors and ministry leaders.  This partnership connects us with a larger group of churches, to build friendships and encourage one another when we come together.
