Do you have to dress up to attend a worship service?
Not at all. Your welcome to dress comfortable, and come as you are. At Harewood Community Church, you will see jeans, jerseys, and the occasional suit and dress. We are a diverse, multi-generational church.
Is there something for the kids and youth?
We all come together as a family, children and youth during worship. Following the worship children ages 18 months to 10 years are dismissed to participate in their own time of singing, prayer and bible learning. Every second and fourth Sunday includes a program for youth ages 11 and up.
What do you offer for babies and toddlers?
There is a quiet space in the library should you require for feeding and additional care for your infant and/or toddler.
Why do you meet in a school gym?
We currently do not have a building, and Georgia Avenue Elementary has allowed the use of their facility and gym for an affordable cost. This location places us in south Nanaimo, and in the VIU - Vancouver Island University area. We are open to re-location should a more permanent facility become available and as our family grows.
What denomination is Harewood Community Church?
We consider ourselves to be non-denominational. We are partnered with the Apostolic Churches of Pentecost of Canada. ACOP provides support for our pastors and ministry leaders. This partnership connects us with a larger group of churches, to build friendships and encourage one another when we come together.
